What
women look for physically in a man

Let
us start this section by being straight with you. There is nothing scientific
about the sampling of women we've polled. All of this was done at several
cowboy bars in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area, and a couple of other night
clubs that we frequent.
It's no secret that women are now more vocal in what turns them on physically
in a man. All you have to do is watch OPRAH for a few days to
learn that women are not attracted to balloon-muscled
guys on steroids.
Women want someone who is muscular, but trim. Guys who carry the look
of swimmers, 400 meter runners, and water polo players are the ones
who turn their heads. Broad shoulders, a chest with depth, flat abdominals,
and lean defined legs are the look of choice for women.
We
think the comments from these ladies are similar to what we would find
in a legitimate cross-section of towns across U.S., Canada, Australia,
and Great Britain...but there is no way we'd hose you into thinking
that way. Perhaps the best thing to do is ask a variety of women in
your city, "What do you look for in a man, physically?" or
"What makes a man physically desireable to you?"

"I
look for a guy who takes care of himself, which is pretty rare for a
lot of guys over 40. I dance with a lot of men who
have beer bellies hanging over their belts. I smile and talk pleasantly
to them, but there is no way I'd consider getting into a relationship
with them. I don't have to have Tarzan, but I want a man who feels solid
and is committed to himself. When we dance I can feel right away if
he works out hard or if he's a phoney." - Carol, 44 - Whiskey

"I
am definitely attracted to men who are slender and look like an athlete.
You can tell immediately, when one walks in. Their clothes fit well,
their face and neck aren't fleshy, and they move easily. On the dance
floor, I lay my left hand right between their shoulder and upper arm.
I can tell who takes pride in themselves and who is lazy about their
fitness. Why would I be interested in any man who is lazy in any area
of his life?" - Penny, 57 - HandleBar J's

"You know why I'm attracted to a man who feels solid? I know he'll
have strong energy if we end up in bed. There is no way I can make love
with someone who is soft, mooshy, slow-moving. Oh, God, I can't believe
I'm saying this, but it's the truth! I know other women feel the same
way. There is nothing sexy about seeing a flabbly body, even in candle
light. Don't get me wrong, the guy doesn't have to look like Mr. America.
He just has to look like he is lean, hard, and healthy."

"If
guys only knew that most of us just come in here to dance...and that's
it...one night a week. It is good practice, but not the place to find
a relationship. Most of the men who come in here have beer bellies and
look sloppy in their clothes. Why would a guy like that turn me on?
I want a guy with a decent build and some relationship skills. Look,
those guys in the muscle magazines make me puke. I think they're all
probably gay anyhow. The kind of body I like on a man is one that is
trim, tight, and doesn't feel soft." - Brenda, 34 - Rockin'

"I
talk and dance with a lot of successful businessmen in here. They have
expensive suits, expensive jewlery and hair styles, and confidence...but
they've all let their bodies go soft. There is nothing sexy about
a soft body. Yuk! A couple of guys tried some lame lines about not having
time to workout because they were doing so well making money. That just
didn't sit well with me. If they have time to spend four hours in a
bar, they can find a hour to workout."

"It's
no secret women like guys who are taut, strong-looking, and have good
definition. Almost every guy that comes onto me in here has skinny little
arms, a sunken chest, and the beginning of a pot-belly. When a guy walks
in who takes care of himself, who looks like he could sprint around
the block or push an F-150 to the corner, believe me, he gets noticed.
He doesn't have to look like some steroid freak, but if he's bigger
in the arms and chest, and has a flat tummy...every, and I mean every,
girl in the place is going to notice him." - Julie, 29 - HandleBar
